Trivia Quiz > Connection Troubleshooting Two

Step Two

Now that we have established that Java is installed on your computer and is up to date, the problem(s) you are experiencing connecting to the trivia quiz can only be caused by one of two things:

  • You have a firewall (such as "Norton Internet Security" or "Zone Alarms") installed on your computer and it is blocking the Java applet from connecting you to trivia. Please ensure you check any firewalls you have installed to enable access to this safe environment.

  • Your computer/internet connection is not reading the contents of the Java applet accurately.

If you have already checked your firewall settings and are satisfied that they are configured appropriately, then we will attempt to connect you to the trivia room via an alternative Java program.

Please note you will be connected to the trivia room under the name of "Anonymous-Dep". We ask you to please select an unique nickname for others to refer to you by once you are in trivia (please use the "Nickname" feature within the Java applet).

If you find this second Java applet fails to connect you to this room, then click "Next" to be taken to step three of this troubleshooting guide.
