I have gone to several support groups over the years.
It is odd that most of the time, when asked what they want the most, is peace.
For me that peace comes with sleep. I am such a light sleeper that, when I do sleep, I was up very easily. My mom tends to wander at night and I keep my bedroom door open so I can hear her.
Doesn't do so well in trying to sleep. Mind you I am getting so run down I may not sleep but I am getting so lethargic I find it difficult to move some days. Just want to stay in bed, pull the covers over my head and wish that the world would just stop yapping at me for a bit.
Think I better sign off since I appear to have gone off topic, yet again.
Sleep well.

No Monty! You're just fine! : ) Please don't worry! Your thoughts are welcome here! I do feel like that too! I have been sleeping less lately & then sometimes crashing in the middle of the day--like taking a siesta...
I try not to sleep in the day (unless I'm sick) because I don't want that habit, in case I start a job!

Well... I think I have finally established a routine for sleep....
Shower (especially because I am waking in the morning to clean)
Some days, I will play a game while lying in bed to wind down from the day.
Lately, I've had oil on the aroma stone.... (mainly lavender) Tonight it's lavender and vetiver together. I also made a cup of tea.

Finally, I have some relief....
In my profile, where I wrote about some of my physical health ailments, I mentioned that I had suffered temporary paralysis when I was in my teens just as I had awoken from sleep.
Today, I was looking up something else that was happening to me & came across the term for what had happened all those years ago. It's called SLEEP PARALYSIS.
I was taking a nap today because I felt weak (probably from house cleaning & lugging water + groceries up the stairs). Then, I woke up, since I was kind of startled out of my sleep. My boyfriend was walking around in the house & I felt his presence + awoke. At 1st, I wasn't really processing that it was him, but he spoke to me, so I knew it was his voice. From there on in, I remember feeling terrified & then terrified of him for pretty much no reason. It lasted a long time.
I've had something similar happen recently as well. I've panicked out of my sleep while having a nightmare that a centipede would crawl in the bed & bite me (because sometimes where I'm sleeping, the bed is on the floor). I've had that scenario replay in my head many times & then I would be terrified for pretty much the rest of the whole night. Sometimes, I don't wake up fully out of my sleep, but it's like I end up mumbling or groaning/screaming in my sleep.
It's sort of like the last thing I was thinking about or the 1st thing I see with my bad eyes ends up being the trigger for that intense feeling of terror.
I may have to get myself checked for a sleep disorder later. Often times, I sleep but don't feel rested in the morning (SLEEP DEPRIVATION PERHAPS?). Now, I seem to be hallucinating (& there is no substance abuse).....
It seems like my sleep problem transforms itself every now & then--from sleep paralysis to insomnia. (I wonder if it's computer related?)
Yeah, I probably have to go to a doctor/specialist.

My sleep has been a little off, due to starting some new medication.... Sometimes I just wake up in the middle of the night & then I'm up... Although, I may just crash later on in the day....
It's just I want to set a pattern for myself so that I can get a job in the near future, & well, I wouldn't be able to do that by sleeping in the day....
I guess one thing at a time.... ??? I so want to be able to take care of myself..... I really don't want to rely on anyone else? I mean, what if something happens to that other person? Then, what do I do??

I don't work and live alone so I'm not on anyones schedule and it really doesn't matter if I'm awake during the day or at night. I prefer to be awake at night because it's more quiet. I've got some health issues where I deal with fatigue and will go to sleep if I get the least bit tired just to pass the time.
I usually only sleep about 4 hours at a time and consider 6 hours a full nights sleep. Today I woke up at 3am and stayed up till 9am, then went back to bed and slept till almost 2pm. I'll probably go back to sleep about 5 for an hour so I can stay awake and watch TV for a while this evening.

I've been having some insomnia in the past few weeks, as well as some nightmares. I was being chased by things. I was in this building and I could see the ocean and the shore. There were things scattered across the shore--papers, briefcase, etc.
I was looking for a way to escape when this man appeared, pulled me in this office and sealed the place shut. He was holding me in an embrace, bleeding a little from some sort of injury, tattered clothes but I felt safe with him.
If I recall, how I processed it was that he had been shipwrecked and the building/office was his--which was how he knew to activate some sort of security lockdown on that room, so we could avoid the things chasing us.

Depending on how I get insomnia, I may actually just stay up and start/continue a task I need finish.
