is crying good or bad?
for the last few years (i'm 15) i have had depression which has made me so low i cannot do anything and i isolate other people from my life. but for all this time i haven't cried once. i mean i have from physical pain, but i have never been able to let out all my feelings, until a couple of weeks ago where i began crying. at the time i felt relief because i have always felt that not being able to express myself is my problem, but since them i have teared up every few days over stupid little things. is something wrong with me? or is this how everyone else deals with life?

Think of crying as a release valve on a machine. It releases a lot of pressure and makes it safe to continue on again. Crying is not a bad thing. The main benefit of crying is catharsis, or a purging or purification of your feelings through emotional release. When you cry, you can let go of the tension and sadness and other emotions that have been causing you pain. In many ways, crying serves as a safety valve that allows you to blow off emotions that have built up too much pressure inside you.
Shedding tears can be a huge and very healthy emotional release, particularly if you are experiencing deep pain, sadness, anger, or stress.

I personally find crying helpful, and a lot of the time, I can't help it. It sounds like you're a bit repressed emotionally and the sadness builds up over time, until you start crying over a lot of things. And that's ok; everyone's different. I'm not doctor or anything, but I think crying is healthy. sometimes I make myself laugh when I cry and afterwards I feel a bit better about things.
your body is just doing what's right for you; who knows you better than yourself?

I find crying helpful. When I was around 13 (I'm currently 20), I would cry all the time. Half the time, I'd cry myself to sleep. But I found crying helpful because it let out all my anger and frustrations. =) It's definitely a good thing. I mean, usually during the time I feel like a bit of a tard crying, because sometimes it can be embarrassing or you just feel stupid. But, in the end of it, all my stress, worry and everything else is gone.
So if you need to cry, I say let it out! There's nothing wrong with a good cry now and then. =)
