My mom invited me over for dinner and it was yummmmmmy and then I went to the store for both of us, picked up a few items for her and for me, including a notebook to jot down some ideas and my coffee on sale still; I mailed the last of my bills for the month and picked up a Mocha Frappe for splurge; my school is playing my niece's college in the NIT tonight and usually my college is never on t.v. so I will be able to watch them (never went to basketball games when I was there!); the depression is bubbling under the surface but so far I am fighting to stay positive. Also I heard from my insurance agent and I should be getting reimbursed enough to pay off my tax bill from what I was overcharged...will be glad to get that out of the way.

At midnight begins St. Patrick's Day, the day I will celebrate a renewed 3 years of sobriety...so I plan to stay up, although I cannot afford a cake, I will watch the Irish goods for sale on the QVC even though I cannot afford to buy them, I like to look its like window shopping...

Good things for me today.....

Had my morning coffee, watching the sunrise and the birds waking.

Gave a birthday party yesterday for a friend and the house wasn't a disaster area this morning.

Staying on my goal of changing certain areas in my life, this is good!

Knowing I, alone, removed the remains of fall and winter from my yard/garden and now see the green grass, flowers growing, shrubs leafing, mother nature coming to life. What a sight! :)

Not the big things in life that always matter, it is the small things we take for granted, that when noticed, will make you smile. (That's a Warmie orginial thought, LOL )

Postby mamasam » Tue Mar 30, 2010 7:17 pm

the good things that happened to me today were... i took a bubble bath this morning and had lunch with a dear old friend who happens to be a guy (NO not romantic) before comming to work. All in all, i had a good day, still sad and in alot of pain, but for about half an hour solid, i was not brooding over joe! yeay me!

Well, been really rough lately, today included, but three really good things happened.

First, caught a program on PBS (no commercials to trigger!) on monkeys and for that hour I did not think of anything except the monkeys and was totally transfixed, amused, fascinated, and interested...never knew how much like "humans" they are, knew that about apes, but fascinating. Really enjoyed it and first time in a long time able to watch something on tv and enjoy! Thought briefly about (((((((((((Dande)))))))))) and the monkeys that got in her place recently when saw them on tv making mischief!

Second, was invited over to my sister's for dinner. Sister doesn't like me much but it was Easter and guess she knows from my mom how depressed I've been, and felt a little awkward but good to be around people again and feel ever so briefly a part of a family. Plus she sent me home with tomatoes!

Third, went back to chatroom and friend I thought was mad isn't, so much relieved.

Have cut back on wellbutrin and seeing if that improves my state...think its been making me more depressed and just can't handle waiting to see if increased dose stablizes....depression just too, too severe. At least three times today, felt a dose of goodness and light. Lotsa down points, but overall best day in a while.

(((((((((((shatterd))))))))))))) so happy that you had a good day on monday! I hope the rest of the week is going well for you! i have been away for a few days, took a trip to the beach to get my mind off of everything...that i will do another post for. I was on welbutrin before and it had the total opposite effect on me, i was even more depressed....it made me act crazy!! one minute i was happy and feeling good, the next i was screaming and crying ...and i had no idea why. I quit taking it and felt sooo much better.
good things that happened to me today were... it is one of my daughters 16th bday :D I took her and had her nails done and we went shopping, we ate dinner out on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather. She is now on her way to the beach with her dad.
also, another good thing that has happened to me is you guys! Thanks to you all here, I have become self empowered, i am standing up for me. Joe called at 3am the other day, and i stood up for me! all this info will be in another post. Yay me!! :D

Today was good for me today - I finally thought of a career I would like - a lot of research has been extended. Just had some of my best friends over a cup of coffee - I am hooked on them and now they are married. Watching a movie with Anthony Hopkins - is certainly good, and teach me new things. Today is the day I hope.Initiated by the opposition, but is now blessed with peace. No, the money, but the dreams and plans of action will be preserved. Life is wonderful...
