Hi (((( SorrowRose )))), welcome to the forum! :)
I've found this forum to be a very helpful, thought-provoking and supportive place. I hope that you will too!
Like you, I've reached a place in my life where I've realised that I need to accept who I am, ( Which includes learning how to manage my depression better. ), and have a more positive view of myself. Dropping my own " fake smile " .

I haven't been to the forums for a while.

After sitting down at the computer and reading some of the postings I am planning on visiting more regularly.

Even seeing counsellors I put on my "game face" before talking to him. I realize that it is pretty stupid to do that when seeing a therapist because he can't read my mind. I have to tell him what is going on.

Think that game face stuff is just so deeply engrained in my head that I just find it so difficult to take it off, even when around friends. It is like I am afraid (even good friends) won't want to be with me on those times when I am down.

I do take off that face when I am posting here. Everyone has always been so supportive and helpful. I am glad that you found this site.
