Greetings

Postby Mmobilized » Thu Apr 29, 2010 12:05 am

Hi....I'm a new one here. I had some misgivings about joining this site, as this is something potentially accessible to anyone else out there, and I don't quite like the idea of spilling it all out without any real privacy. The main reason is I'm in a small rural town (having moved out of Seattle half a year ago) with practically no access to therapy for anyone in the low-income category.

In any case, I hope it'll be comfortable here.

I can understand your misgivings about talking about things in such an open forum. This is in fact the first internet forum that I've ever been involved in myself.
I hope that you will come to feel comfortable on this site. Please remember that you don't have to tell anybody anything about yourself that you're not comfortable with. I, just read posts on this site for weeks before I posted anything myself.
Welcome aboard!

Hi Mmobilized - Welcome to the forum. I can certainly understand your hesitancy. I felt the same way but have been pleasantly rewarded with lots of caring friends here who are very supportive. I have not told my full story and probably never will but there are so many here who are willing to lend support when you need a hand. Take care.

Ugh. I grew up in a small town, and everyone knew everyone else's business. The nice thing about small towns though is that it is soooo unlikely that anyone else there actually would find themselves here too. It's much safer here in DU though; the forums are moderated very carefully. They do everything they can to keep your privacy, so it is unloikely that anyone wil give you any problems. Hugs.
