A poem
Here in the dark, it's the little things that is noticed. The wait was too LONG and doubt creeps in, studies every detail, finding all the flaws. And warning lights flash. The unwanted comes, with it brings misfortune suddenly a door knocks. Sleep is driven away, Paranoia sets in. It's the little things like snowflakes falling on the mountain at night. Every tiny trespass numbered and left to lie, a million tiny trespasses unnoticed in present time. It's the little things. Exaggerations, little lies, Straying thoughts. Little things, Sins so small, so common you never see it coming, living in your dark, quiet corner. minding no one's business. Here in the dark are all the little things that unmake. We live day to day seeking comfort in the darkness of this quiet little corner And finding little things the wind is shivering, knock, knock, this has sent a tidal wave of fear and frustration. It's that knock on the door, That says OPEN UP! But I stay confined to the chambers that my head only knows. I wonder, should I open the door to my release or the other door which kept me prisoner?

My favorite line in this is: The wind is shivering....
That just caught my eye... The little things, ah?
As for the doors.... Maybe you have both open & run back + forth when you need to do so?
That's what I do.... Don't know if it will work for you....
The doors I go between have a little short pathway in the middle, a feeling similar to when you're in a hotel or in a room with adjoining doors.... (I just have to make sure I don't open the door that doesn't have any floor & I end up falling over the edge....)
I control the adjoining doors, so I don't have to worry about not being able to access the other side, if I want.
