Question was:
What town derives it's name from an Indian word which means "the town of the sandflies"?
Answer:
Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Punxsutawney comes from the Indian name for the location "ponksad-uteney," which means "the town of the sandflies." And we all know that Punxsutawney is the place of the famous groundhog, who had his big day yesterday.
Give Flossy a point. Very well done.
Repeat of tie breaking question for Flossy and Courtney:
What is unihemispheric slow-wave sleep?
Good luck you two.

Tie breaker answer is:
It is sleeping with one eye open and half the brain awake. Dolphins, seals, manatees and birds can do this. In marine animals, this kind of sleep is critical for it allows them to sleep and swim to the surface to breathe.
Flossy gets the tie-breaker point for the month of February.
Flossy I think you are the winner.
Need offical word from Stephen.
Way to go!

lol Warmsoul...
I'm here in the background doing the number crunching.
Yes, I agree with you: Flossy is crowned Queen of the forum trivia game for February... but only by a slight margin.
Hmm, wish I could answer some of these question... but my general knowledge is certainly increasing

Joan Crawford. "Joan Arden" was chosen first, but it was already in use. "Movie Weekly" magazine held the contest, and awarded Mrs. Tisdale, a woman from Albany, New York, $500 for "Joan Crawford".
Score is tied 2 each for you and Courtney now. (Paying attention Stephen) LOL
