Hello!

Postby bradleyg » Mon Nov 09, 2009 11:45 pm

I've been on the chat a few times and was told the forum was the place to be- so here I am!
I am 24 years old, male, canadian. Aside from that, I enjoy watching soccer, playing tennis and lawn bowling, croquet, British pop and television shows.
So what brings me here? A long history of depression and anxiety, self-image issues that I didn';t realize even really existed untill 2 years ago.
I have begun therapy and am begining, slowly but surely to work through my current issues, which stem from guilt-driven obsessions, repetitive thoughts and inability to forgive myself.
I look forward to meeting many of you, and talking on the forums.
The chat was a very positive experience and I am sure that the forum will be good for me as well.
Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you! :)

Hello and welcome to the forum! There are friendly, warm, kind people on here who are very supportive and helpful in arming you to fight and live with this disease.

I, too, struggle with issues of forgiveness and blaming myself. But over the years one thing that has helped me, if an outsider had done x or y that I did at that age, under the same circumstances, would I be able to forgive them? It is often easier to forgive others than ourselves. We are sometimes able to show much more compassion for others than ourselves.

Anyway, welcome! Look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Bradleyg, It sounds like you are very motivated, and have a varied variety of wonderful skills. Welcome to the forum. I am a newcomer myself, and have already found a positive, welcoming and extremely supportive group in this forum.

Your spirit can be renewed, your excceptance is automatic, and you need not be leery of discussing anything at all. I hope to be able to chat again soon.
