Spreadsheets skills

Postby Annefnd » Sun Apr 13, 2025 6:07 pm

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to drop by and share a quick thought – I’ve recently finished an intermediate Excel training course (online), and honestly, it was way more helpful than I expected. I always thought I had a pretty solid grasp of spreadsheets, but once we dove into pivot tables, Power Query, and conditional formatting, I realized how much more efficient I could be with a little skill training. :)

I’m curious though – has anyone taken an advanced course that focuses more on dashboards or data visualization? I’m starting to get interested in that side of things, especially since I’m working more closely with our marketing team now.

Also, do you think it’s better to go with Microsoft’s own learning paths, or are platforms like Coursera and Udemy just as good (or better)?

Would love to hear your experiences or any recommendations! :P

I'm glad you had a nice experience. Great to hear. My knowledge on these things are limited, but great job.

If you're looking to level up, Power BI might be worth exploring too, especially since you’re already familiar with Excel—there’s a lot of overlap in concepts.

If you're working closely with marketing now, try building a sample dashboard using real or sample campaign data—click-through rates, engagement, ROI, etc. It's a REPO good hands-on way to apply what you're learning and impress the team.

congrats on finishing the intermediate Excel course!
