Finally break the stigma

Postby musgravellis » Fri Sep 12, 2014 5:54 am

I am new to this forum. I have been depressed on & off for 7 years, the worst being last year when I was on antidepressants for 6 months, with bad side effects, particularly with regard to the old fella, hence split up with my girlfriend. Otherwise the meds worked until a few months ago - waking at 4a.m on the dot, NO appetite and force feeding myself, lethargy, no-one to talk to except for 1 great friend who could relate. She recommended I read 'The Apron and Napoleon's Hat'. It's an e-book and haven't seen it in bookstores yet. I got it on ibook store. Bloody brilliant, and has helped me stay off the meds for now. But mostly it will remove the stigma if everyone who dosen't know what depression is like reads it. Some pretty gross medical stuff in there, but seriously funny. A few other friends have read it and now talk to me about my illness without hesitation and with a laugh. Stay well. :P

That's great, I am glad that something is helping you. I love seeing smiley faces in these forums.

Although I'm not depressed anymore I will definitely check that book out :D

Thank you for sharing x
