No one to turn to.

Postby Shannon19 » Sun Jun 22, 2014 11:32 pm

So this is new to me. I'm extremely anxious when it comes to interaction with new people so I'm a little uneasy about doing this.

I've been dating a guy for a little over a year and half now; and I thought I was in love. About six months into our relationship I noticed that his sex drive just dropped for no reason. I kept asking why and he wouldn't tell me until I pushed him into telling me. He said he wasn't sexually attracted towards me, but was in love with my personality. This really hurt me but I thought it would get better. This problem continues to persist and my breaking point has hit. Weeks ago he said he doesn't want to have sex with me because I'm too big. More recently I decided to go meatless, unrelated to weight "issue", he brought it to my attention that he was afraid that if I didn't eat meat I was going to only eat junk food! This really hurt from him because I've been receiving no support from family. I really believe he loves me, I just think he's selfish and narcissistic. Image

First, welcome to this site. :) I hope you find what you're looking for through the support of other members.

Second, don't feel pressured to change. If your boyfriend really loves you, he'll love you for your imperfections, not in spite of them. I'm not the prettiest girl in the world either and I've also had boyfriends who told me that they're not physically attracted to me. It hurts, it really stings to know that someone you care about doesn't like you in that way. But do you know what I did when they told me that they didn't find me attractive? Bye, bye.

There is always someone out there who will love you for your imperfections. Don't do anything you don't want to. Some girls are just bigger. If you want to change, then great. There's nothing wrong with wanting to change your appearance, just don't let other people do it for you.

Everyone is beautiful, inside and out. We all have our flaws and our perfections. That's just what makes us human. We're not all gorgeous, or smart, or funny, or athletic, or artistic, or etc. But that's what makes us unique. And if your boyfriend can't appreciate you for who you are, then he doesn't deserve you. :)
