I'm Sandra and I'm 14 years old. I think I have depression... And before you kindly explain to me it's just a phase, let me explain.
It's been bugging me for some years just now. The world has lost it's colours and I can barely feel emotions now. Happiness, excitation, anticipation, love... I don't feel them anymore. The world has lost it's sense.
Everytime I'm trying to tell people about my depression, they tell me I will grow out of it. It hurts, because I really seek help. That's why I'd be glad if you could help me out a bit.

Hi cat;
I have chronic depression and my searching for answers has lead me to conclusion (there is research) that depression is a response to under lying stress. My point is, I know it's not a phase; I don't think anyone here will tell you that.
Chronic stress leads to chronic depression. Now, if the stress beneath my depression is somehow removed and I start to live a more stable life, then years down the road I may look at my first 50 years as a phase. I hope for that. And I'd like it if one day you look back and think of your depression as a phase. But no, it's not a phase, especially when your in the middle of it.
There are lot's of ways to understand and hopefully mitigate what your going through. One of the best and most powerful is talking about it.
So your on the right track here. Tell us a bit more if you feel comfortable.
Welcome

Thank you for reaching out, hon. You are in difficult years as it is, being a teenager is one of the most traumatic phases in life, especially in United States, whew.
I reccommend doing what you are doing now and also journaling. Talk through your feelings and impressions, even recording yourself and listening to it can help you gain perspective.
And also there is a hotline called Boystown for young people. They will talk to you without charge on the phone and online. More importantly, never give up. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
