I Don't Know What To Do
Since high school I was always the successful, smart, funny, outgoing girl. To me though especially now in my second year of college I feel like I am putting on a mask. I felt it before but not nearly to the extent now. I have thought about killing myself so many times, but just didn't know how to do it here at school. I even looked up how it felt to die. I can't focus on my homework, feel like crying (a lot) and just wonder around pretending to my friends, family, and boyfriend. I mentioned a small bit to my boyfriend and he didn't understand and I don't know what to do. Some days are so hard to get through like today and how am I suppose to go on living the great "college experience" when I feel like this. Is this depression? What should I do?

is there a school counselor or a teacher that you trust that you can talk to about how you feel.
i have tried suicide it is not everything it is cracked up to be.
life although it is a struggle is worth it. things i know seem and are hard for you at the moment but i talk from experience life will get better.
there are kind people on this site who have gone through similar experiences.
know some one cares
take care

Hey girl;
Many things come crashing together in college. Sometimes the people you think you should be able to confide in the most are not the people who know you the best. Often those you know in college, know as a different person. College is a good time to try out new masks to see how they fit. It's a good thing. But it can also get confusing.
Sometimes it's good to talk to people who recognise who you were in high school. It's good your posting here where you don't need to wear any masks at all. Depression and crying are healthy reactions to stress. Try to remember they are reactions (not to be banished but) to be examined for the underlying causes. I can't say I know what's going on in your life. I can say it often helps me, when I'm under pressure, to look for ways to simplify and organize some. Simplifying lightens the load and helps me see a bit more clearly. Whenever I organize, I feel more control over my life.

Hey hi.
Well u won't believe it but if u r feeling this way in ur college, that means u r having a very normal college life because such kind of feelings often embrace us in our college time. U will surely believe this fact when u ll get over with ur college life.
College life often makes us to feel this way because in college life we meet new people of just the opposite nature and temperament and personalities...where as in school everyone know us already and we know everyone already since early childhood....SO the extent of carrying out adjustments is quiet high in college as compared to school. One more reason, in college life we reach at an age of responsibilities plus we often think about our future jobs and future life partners. There are plenty of reasons and differences. That's why we feel different and often low--mood in college.
So these r some of the reasons why we can't feel calm and happy go lucky EVERYTIME like we used to wen we were in school.
To summarize, in school we have only one tension and ie "how to cope with the huge count of syllabus and homework" but in college u say hello to so many responsibilities.
U know, since early childhood i had a sense to understand my mother's problem or my dad's business crisis etc etc. But my level of understanding kept achieving a depth as i kept growing mature year by year...but so was the intensity of my understanding.
If ur feelings are not because of my above mentioned stuff. Then i wud really want to help u out dear. But for that u will have to dig in a little deep to enlist what exactly are the problems or annoying thought u have been going through. And then elaborate them here, i and many others on this site wud love to guide u thru and to make u smile...a real smile...without a mask.
Take care.
Waiting for ur reply.
Bye.
