Depression gone without medication. Give this a try?

Postby dearie_yeesh » Tue Jul 13, 2010 11:13 am

Hi everyone, would like to share my story. I am not selling anything here. Just that it has worked for me and it would be great if it works for others as well.

I was diagnosed with PMDD (Pre-Menstrual Depression Disorder) about 3 years back after i broke up with my ex. During our relationships, i would break into tears and hysteria for no good reason. It was a major strain in our relationship but i always attributed it to stress at work or just plain ol' PMS.

After we broke up, i decided that it was high time to find out what the heck was exactly wrong with me. The psychologist told me that i was suffering from PMDD and subscribed the oh-so-famous Prozac for me. I was on the medication for about a year until a friend of mine recommended that i give this yoga & meditation course a try. Was initially quite reluctant to go but then at the same time, was very tired of having to pop a pill just to control my emotions.

So... i dragged myself to the course just to give it a try and i was really quite amazed by the results. It was extremely useful in reducing my stress levels, improving my self confidence, eliminating anxiety and helping me relax and stay focused.

I've been off Prozac for about 2 years now and I am really glad that my friend dragged me to the course before my doc had to subscribe me a stronger dosage. =)

Now, the same kinda stresses hit me. I still have the same intense fights with my current bf but i must say that i can control my emotions much better. I do not feel the urge to pop any pills or even do anything silly to relieve that emotional pain. Honestly, i don't think that the course has changed the world for me in any way. It has however changed me and today, i walk around feeling like the grass is greener than when i saw it the last time.

I wish u all the very best. Hope that one day, u can be like me and proudly declare how you got rid of Prozac in your life. =)

Take care!
Yeesh

Yeah Obayan. I was quite surprised it worked out for me as well.
Guess I was just lucky to have found an easier way out for me.
Just wanna let others know that medication is not the only way. Hopefully more people will have the same luck as i did.
