Hi
Sorry to bother you guys, but I REALLY need to know that there is someone out there who knows how Im feeling. Ive had depressive symptoms for getting on for for 30 years, and am currently going through one of my worst episodes. So much that my husband has just said "why dont you just go top yourself". Cos that helps! Not looking for answers, just understanding xx

I know that this forum is very supportive. With wonder and caring people that deal with so much of the same.
Just type with us, give us that chance to give you support. A great group of people here, as you will find out.
The remark from your husband, all I will say, is please don't listen to him. He doesn't feel what you feel, he doesn't live inside your mind and body.
Are you seeing a doctor, on meds? Not being nosy, just trying to help. Hold on and keep posting, it does help, that I know.
Hope to see more from you soon. Take care, please.

Thanks Guys, hugs and understanding are sometimes all we need....
Yes, Im under the care of my GP, and am currently medicated - Sertraline 30mg and Zopiclone 7.5mg. Am trying to hold off on the Zops as much as possible as I have heard some shockers about their addictive nature, but they help me through the worst of nights.
Having reflected on Hubbys less than sensitive remark, and in the cold light of day, realise its just him lashing out cos he doesnt know how to help
not an excuse, I know, but it makes sense to me.
Thanks again for making me feel welcome, and Im sure I shall be around quite a bit

You're not alone
Hi momcat
Like some of the others who have answered, I also have long-term depression. There are very few times in my life when I can remember not being depressed on some level. I've been on and off meds, and presently am on them. I think the most important thing to remember in the loneliness is that you are truly not alone. It just feels that way. Depression is very complicated and it's hard to figure out how to live with it from day to day for everyone who has it. I don't have any answers, but again, you are not alone.
