Hello,
It feels crazy to even write this or be on this website, I am currently trying to work out if it is counter productive to even write and dwell on how I am feeling, but this is my only option.
I am a young women and am currently a student. I love my life and I know how lucky I am. And yet still get phases where I feel so low and depressed that I feel as though I am drowning.
I have suffered with depression since my early teens and have battled so hard to escape it but cannot quite reach it. It is times like this I wonder if there is any point in trying to do so. The logical part of my brain tells me there is but emotions won't leave me alone.
I love literature, (as you can probably tell by the title of my post) nature, music, moments of pure ecstasy and pretty much most good things in this world so it would be crazy to let go wouldn't it.
I have never described to anyone the full extent of how I feel so that is why I am doing this and also to (hopefully) find like minded people and help people,
Thanks for reading <3

You need to talk to a Dr..
There are tests you can take to find out how depressed you are. Severe depression can be helped by a two pronged approach: meds, and talk therapy.
That said, nothing works 100%. The meds might take up to two weeks to start to work, or they might not work at all and you might need to try something different. There is a therapeutic method called CBT that I can recommend, but if you read lots of posts (including mine) therapy can only take you so far.
As to whether you should not post because you are "dwelling on things" I find conversing on here reinforces the positive things I do for myself, while if I don't post I end up "dwelling" with no control. Everyone is different. How did you feel after you posted? Let that be your guide.
Good Luck, you sound like a great person.
