Co-Existing Conditions

Postby CitM » Fri Jun 21, 2013 11:57 am

One of the things I'd like to discuss is co-existing conditions. For me, a lot of what's wrong are migraines. I know they are migraines because migraine medicines actually work.

Migraines have a plethora of symptoms. For one thing, it can cause aches and pains all over your body. It can interfere with thinking too. It can make you tired, nauseous, dizzy, etc. In short, it can make you very miserable and can as well cause your moods to be depressed.

Fibromyalgia has the same ability to cause depression and hormonal imbalances also.

It is really important to do a process of 'ruling out' other conditions that also has depression as a common symptom. Giving anti-depressants, but not dealing with the underlying cause will result in a less than successful outcome.

One can spend a lot of time with a therapist as well, but you can't talk a thyroid or pancreas etc, to respond to talk therapy.

Hope that helps some of you and give food for thought in others.
