I'm So Stupid

Postby ShyGirlHolly » Sun Apr 14, 2013 11:30 pm

I told her about my depression and anxiety and treats me like I don't exist now. I can just feel her telling her friends about me and they'll all do the same thing. Soon I'll be the school's basket case. Why did I tell her? Why did I trust her?! This is why I isolate myself people because I can never trust anybody. From now on, it's leave before you get attached. I can't take this pain of never being good enough for people anymore.

Thank you for writing ShyGirlHolly. Some people don't know how to handle illness in others. They don't understand and their not knowing scares them. Try talking with your friend again. If she is your friend she will have kept your secret and will welcome the chance to learn more about what is causing her friend such pain and doubt.

If the people in school learn of your depression they might make fun of you, which would be mortifying for any on us, but your friend(s) will stick by you. I am certain of that.

I believe you told your friend because you can't live with the pain and lonliness that accompany depression on your own. By telling your friend you have grown stronger, though you may not feel stronger right now. You have taken the first of a series of big steps, you have admitted your depression is real. Your next big step is to talk with your parents, school councilor or minister. Whomever you talk with will support you and help you through your difficulty.

Remember you aren't the first or only person to feel the way you do and you are not alone. Besides the people noted above, you have all the moderators and users of this forum who will all do whatever wecan to help you.

You have a fight before you and we will help you. You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not alone. Keep repeating the last line when you feel low and jump in here and type, type, type what your dealing with. You are not alone. You were not wrong to trust your friend.
