Has anyone been in a relationship that may have triggered BP

Postby canadiangurl_77 » Mon Mar 18, 2013 12:52 am

Hi there....still relatively new to this site. I've been meaning to ask any of you....have you ever been in such an emotionally abusive relationship that it may have triggered BiPolar? That's where I'm at right now. Before I met the ex husband, I was energetic, fun to be around, had a healty level of self esteem and an overall rounded "moody" person. I mean really, we are all moody, right?

So let's fast track to today....I'm going to be 36, am a single mom of one boy and on meds which I am told I'm going to be on for the rest of my life. I know it's quick and easy to put the blame on SOMEONE, but I've only ever had that one real relationship.....went from being fun to.....I don't even know the word :(

I have to stop typing right now bc I can't see the keys on my computer from the tears.

Here's hoping tomorrow will be a better day....

Leanne

Hi Leanne. I'm sorry your relationship ended so badly and that you had to go through that. Have you asked your doctor if he thinks that the relationship triggered it? A person can have mood swings, but they usually aren't as severe or last as long as the mood swings someone with bipolar may have.

((((((leanne))))))))) Hope you are having a better day or your day improves.
