Daemons of Lowell
Admonition in an endless loop,
a madness borne of symmetry and order.
Reason destroying reason,
and yet the finely laced circuit is all my own,
fearsome but true.
Removed from the hunt
yet paralyzed by fact,
and trapped, inert.
Yet why not say what happened?

Thank you. I have to give all of the credit to Robert Lowell, since it's a riff (if not a rip-off) of a section of, "Day by Day." We share troubled thoughts in common, but my effort was pale imitation (and an ode) to the poet:
But sometimes everything I write
with the threadbare art of my eye
seems a snapshot,
lurid, rapid, garish, grouped,
heightened from life,
yet paralyzed by fact.
All's misalliance.
Yet why not say what happened?
~ Robert Lowell, from "Day by Day"
