Hi there...

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and am hoping this site gives me some way to help me change my outlook on life...

Over the past 12 months I just feel like I've been losing a grip on everything and now I'm at a point where I feel like I'm just hanging in...

I've always suffered from anxiety right from childhood but that anxiety has gotten so bad that it is now affecting my family life and my marriage.

Anxiety which has now turned to depression and I'm just not sure how to pull myself up when some times I feel like I'm drowning :(

Hopefully I can get some input into why I feel like I do and gain some inspiration from others who have been in the same boat and have found their way out.

I'm terrified I'm losing my battle with keeping my marriage together and I'm pushing my husband, my children and my friends and family away because I have lost who I am and am not someone anyone wants to be around anymore.

I've lost my true identity and want to find myself again in the hope my husband will fall in love with me again and my kids can be proud to call me their mum :(

Welcome to the forum. Anxiety can be hell, it's understandable, just hang in there. You're doing something strong, by trying to find ways to deal with what it is you're going through, instead of letting go fully. It's very good too, because letting go fully just leads to more misery.

Hi mismatched and welcome to the forums. I am sorry to read about your struggles. Under the best of circumstances, marriage and children are hard. The emotional demands and constant stress and worry that accompany parenting is not something anyone should underestimate.

When anxiety as you describe take over, mistmatched, maybe seeking some professional medical advice might be an avenue you wish to consider.

Talking here and getting support from others is a great resource too.

Many members describe what you are describing and you are not alone with how you feel.

Keep posting and take care. We look forward to hearing more from you.
