for some reason i find i'm SI myself again. i used to do thist when i was younger, many years ago, but now i'm 35, i'm doing it again.
its a release for me, as i keep hold of all the stress and agony of life and find that i can no longer contain it. i am bipolar.
i have night terrors too, i wake up screaming and punching out at demons. i have a suspicion that its a throwback from my youth when i was in turmoil, but thats something i wont talk about.
is it 'normal' for a 35yr old to have night terrors and self harm?
am i the only one?

Well.... Normal is a hard word.... You know....
It's "normal" in some places to where clothes & then again it can be just as "normal" not to where anything at all, depending where you are/where you go on the globe.
It happens, it happens.
I'm sorry if it causes you pain/distress, though! To answer your question, I do not feel that you are the only one who suffers from them. I do not believe you are alone.

Re: self harm and night terrors
Hello "wookie8472"
To be perfectly honest, it is not normal to have night terrors and harm yourself. But you certainly are not alone. You have a lot of issues and one could say that it is difficult to know where to start; but the important thing is not to decide where exactly to start, but rather to actually start.
With the above thoughts in mind, let's start at your habit of keeping all the stress inside. Try to talk about the stress but only as far as you can talk calmly about it. Make this attitude your motivation for the next submission that you place in this website. You are among friends and we will try to be perfectly honest with you and also keep in mind the fragile state of your nerves.
Give us a chance to help you. Who knows, others have had similar problems to those that you are experiencing right now. I have not hurt myself on purpose, but I have read that some people "accidentally" hurt themselves, and who knows, I might be one of them.
Anyway, here's hoping that you will continue to communicate with us. Thanks for entering your first submission.
Ps. What exactly does "SI" mean? My best guess is self injury or self inflict.
