2009 Storm Chasing highlights

Thought I would make a thread here with some of my favourite photos from my 2009 storm intercepts. I am starting with highlights of 12. Aug. where I got an "HP" (high precip.) supercell which wound up colliding with another system and stalling out over the area dumping mass amounts of rain and caused crippling flash flooding. I had the pleasure of being caught in those floodwaters, inching my way home. Still an awesome day and probably the best out of the year.

21. Aug had some quirky stuff. I loved this little rain shower which was part of a weak line of storms that dissipated. It was pretty cute all by itself.



Later that afternoon I got a pretty massive storm off the coast, it was too big to photograph the entire thing unfortunately.

I stay out of storms, but can see the beauty of them from your pictures. Thank you for sharing.

Went out today and chased the line of storms along the cold front that passed through and bagged a funnel cloud =)
