Tell me why


Tell me why I can't help this little one,
Tell me why I can't reverse the damage done,
Tell me why she trembles so much.
Tell me why when it is a tender touch,
She craves so much.

Tell me why she is here after all,
Tell me why she feels I don't hear her call,
Tell me why she cries everyday,
Tell me why I can't wipe them away,
Her cheeks are so stained with tears.

Tell me why I feel so scared,
Tell me why I seem to stay unrepaired,
Tell me why I stumble and fall,
Tell me why when I want to stand tall,
And just be myself.
