Poking Fun

Postby crystalgaze » Mon Oct 10, 2011 6:16 am

My cousin has PTSD or something like that. Everyone has been trying to be supportive of him. It is the same cousin whom I felt betrayed by several years ago. He has had some counseling & seems to be more with us in the world.

(Do I dare say that he seems more normal? What's normal anyway?)

He talks more. His whole face like lights up & stuff. In general, he just seems a whole lot better. I was worried there for a moment. (You couldn't talk to him because it's like we could never know what might trigger him We could be saying something innocently..... without knowing it could make him blow a fuse.)

His anger was usually very silent, very inward, very lethal.

Anyway, he came home from being away, so I made sure I met him at the airport. He even rode with me. (Wow! I chauffeured my cousin.... ) Perhaps, that's because I'm the youngest of the bunch, the least fussy between his mom, his dad, & my mom.

Funny enough, his birthday was yesterday, so again everybody in my family went by to wish him well.

When we pulled up, HE WAS SHARING A CIGAR WITH HIS BROTHER, & after a while, I teased him, saying "I DIDN'T KNOW YOU SMOKED." It was pretty funny. He was like, "No, no, I don't smoke. This is just my victory cigar." I was like, "OK. Uh huh...."

This was funny to me because I've known my cousin for a LONG time & never knew. Okay then.... I gotta start spending more time with my family.
