First of all, while I love a good philosophical debate lets remember that it isn't about winning or losing. We're simply a group of people searching for the truth. And while we disagree on what we think that truth might be every response only helps us to find that truth faster.

Second, I don't want anyone to feel bad about where the thread has gone. It is all relevant and I appreciate everyone who has answered.

I've been thinking more about this and like some other people have posted each person's may have to define their own purpose. And getting upset about not knowing yours does not help the situation.
