Visit to the GP (Trigger) I think....?

Postby Imperfect-Angel » Mon Aug 16, 2010 1:40 pm

Hi everyone! Pretty glum this afternoon, it's took me around 6wks to pluck up the courage to visit my GP only for him to give me pityful looks... He doubled the dose of my anti- depressants! But he should'v realised I'd already done that months ago from the quickness of my repeat prescription....!
I'm unsure what to do as he is still blaming my depression on my ex having Sudden adult death symdrome (thankfully was brought back to life) But we have been split over 2.5yrs & that was MY choice!
Any advice on what to do would be very helpful as I'm locking myself away at home for weeks-months at a time!

A general practicioner is a great guy to go see for a cut, or an illness that needs mending..... for the psych you need a counselor. They are trained to understand and provide the help you need for your specific condition. A sociologist is good for understanding the impact of the world around us, a psychologist is good for understanding our impact on the world, a psychiatrist combines both and can prescribe medication if it's needed. but honestly, any therapist will do to start off with. Just keep in mind that a doc is a person just like us. There are some good and some bad. they even have bad days. So don't give up trying.
