Parents

Postby MC » Wed Feb 24, 2010 11:37 pm

I am pretty sure that I have been suffering from depression for some time now, and I have tried talking to my parents about it; but every time I try they blow it off as "attention-wanting" antics and normal reactions to the harshness of being in high school. Surely not every high schooler feels like this! How can I get them to truly understand that what I am feeling is not normal?

Hello there MC! Welcome to the forum!

I am not sure how to get your parents to understand. Mine didn't understand, until after I attempted suicide. It was not their fault, though.... They simply weren't equipped to comprehend what I was saying, like they just figured it would all blow over soon.

If you go to school, why not try the school counselor? If you feel comfortable, please say more about your situation!

Hugs to you-----> ((((((((((((((((MC))))))))))))))))))
