I have been exercising for depression and for general health. Currently I bicycle for 30 to 60 minutes several times a week.

Who elses exercises? What kind of exercise do you do?

Unfortunately, the only exercise i can do is low stress no impact. So I do yoga and meditation. I do however practice several awareness exercises. Helps to keep me in the "now" of the moment. :)

Try and google "awareness exercises". There are some really fun ones out there to try out.

This posts reminds me that I really should go back to exercising. I do have an indoor mini bike I could use, and I have used previously.

I have been having a bit of an aversion to being outside for maybe a month or so.

While I was carrying up some groceries to my spot, I thought up a very simple routine I could do. Maybe it might work....

I like to walk. Sometimes I'll go for a run though.

I've never been much of a runner, but once you start and reach a personal goal...the feeling of accomplishment is really great.

Yes, I find goal setting especially in exercising is what keeps me going. Even if its only a short walk.

Obayan,

I saw your post under what you are grateful for. That is a lot of work and certainly good exercise. See you can do it. It does not have to be in teh gym or running, etc. Just moving does it.

Last night I went for a bicycle ride. It felt good.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of very serious medical conditions that prevent me from doing very much at all. But I do get moving when my grandson is around. lol.

!!!!!Obayan!!!!!
You are doing what you can. That's great! Don't try to compare with others. We all have our challenges. And believe me I find it very hard to exercise but I know if I don't keep moving the depression will start to take over. And as you stated else where, "I am not my depression. I can do what I want (or something like that)." thank you for being you and sharing what you do with us.

Hopefully. soon...the last surgeon will release me. Then I can start walking again, slowly at first, but walking. Sounds good to me, two years of not has taken it's toll. LOL 4 surgeons and 7 surgeries, think I got the life time amount in, right?
