Stress Manifestation + Survival Tactic

Postby crystalgaze » Thu Feb 18, 2010 7:42 am

How do you know you're stressing over something & what do you do to combat it?

I'll start.

Seriously stressing: Pain in my chest + upper back (heavy heart?)
Survival Tactic: sleep required; play a game; comfort food

Despair stressing: headache, frustration
Survival Tactic: sleep; going for a drive + listening to my favorite CDs

Relationship stressing: pain in my chest; some crying (not often)
Survival Tactic: sleep; aromatherapy; comfort food (try not to overdo), play a game

Hurt stressing: pain in my chest
Survival tactic: Sleep; play a game; cleaning

After sleeping, I often times feel revived to continue on with life. My bottle of natural lithium comes in handy too, but I try not to use it a lot. I will also tend to drink some mint tea as a comfort drink....

****The point of this thread is to be a place where you can chronicle how you deal with stress & also to identify when you are stressing, so you can handle it better.

Let's get to thinking, so we can control our triggers/etc better! ;)

I have a bit of pain in my chest.... Ah, I do wish I could go back to sleep, but I just ate recently....

I know I'm stressing.... I should stop.... It nearly feels like a panic attack (breaths are shallow), but yet I feel calm/serene at the same time.... I think I might take my medicine and try for that nap....

I did feel like I would've had a panic attack last night while I was on the road.... but I just kept it together as best as possible and concentrated on driving safely to get home....
