Silly behaviour - Triggering Material

Postby DisposableSunshine » Sat Jan 16, 2010 8:19 am

Got drunk last night, and cut myself. First time in ages. Really dumb of me.

Sunshine, drinking is a depressant that is bound to make a person feel worse if not during usually after. As far as the si goes I hope you took care of it. And you said you hadn't done it in a while. Try to look and concentrate on the days you haven't so that you don't beat yourself up about this and it turn into a vicious cycle. You did without it so long before, you can do it longer the next time. Not easy but true.

You're 100% right, thanks.

As is usually the case, I am even more determined today to fight these feelings. Guess the occasional slips just remind me to keep at it, and never let my guard down.

Drinking was a dumb idea, it was fine when in the company of friends but I guess I forgot about the alone bit afterwards.

If you must drink, why not drink a little less, if you can?

That's what I do... Don't know if something like that would work for you.

Hi,

I used to cut, many years ago. Finally was able to stop.

Must admit that I still, often, think of doing it again but haven't for a few years now.

True that alcohol is a depressant and might make it easier to put down your defences in regards to the cutting. Taking it easy on the booze might make it easier to stay away from the cutting.

You are doing really well for this to just be an isolated incident. Cutting is hard thing to keep under control.

Thanks all.

Don't feel like writing a lot today, but I've been doing a lot better, and staying away from alcohol of course.

Suppose the occasional slip-up reminds us we're merely human. :)

Yeah, we're only human...
