The outside world - it's not that bad

Postby lisalou » Thu Oct 08, 2009 3:07 pm

Hi everyone, am having a better day today, certainly better than yesterday when i was crying in the rain and thought that my heart would break. today i managed to get out and meet with a friend i haven't seen for ages who also has mental health problems,it was a relief to be with someone who understands. Then unfortunately i realised how completely i have lost my mind because i completely forgot the PIN number for my bank card! still can't remember it - the same number i've used practically every day for 2 years. scary what depression does to your memory.i went into my bank and they will reset it and post me the details. i spent most of the afternoon quietly sitting in the park and enjoying a freak bit of sunshine we've been having today. felt a bit more normal and positive about the world. don't know what tomorrow or even tonight will bring but sometimes you've just gotta appreciate any moments of peace that you get

Love to all, Lisa xx

I'm so glad that you had a better day today. A nice visit with a friend and some sunshine in the park sounds like a very pleasant day. I wish you many more of those.

hiya amy, nice to meet you too. today has been ok as well,i'm very wobbly around the edges but managed to go out and meet a friend. i think wherever possible it definitely helps to be with kind, understanding people who know you well. i try to fight my instinct to withdraw from the world when i'm low (although a lot of the time i just can't face it...)

Well Lisa... I really think all we can do is keep fighting what we know is not good for us, right? Like withdrawing from the world when there are a million wonderful things out there. Just standing in the sunlight, or hearing my nephew talk and talk and talk make me happy these days.

I hope to heck that you have another bright day, Lisalou. And I'm so glad you joined the forum family here.

Have you been to the chat room? Just curious...

hi amy, thanks for your message. today has not been a bright day unfortunately, i feel completely flat and empty and am finding it impossible to talk to people or focus or enjoy anything. i have been on the chatroom a couple of times, last time it made my computer crash for some reason!

((((lisalou))))

I'm sorry that your days have been blue... but I am glad you went into the chat room - maybe we'll run into each other in there one day!

Never heard of the chat room causing a crash... maybe it was a coincidence? I hope that doesn't scare you away from entering. Lots of great people and wonderful support for you in there.
