Depression Doesn't Always Look the Way People Think

For the longest time, I kept telling everyone I was "fine," even though I felt completely drained inside. Depression isn't always visible, and that made it even harder to ask for help.
My cat became my biggest source of comfort during that time. Later, I decided to get an ESA evaluation through My ESA Therapist because I wanted to go through a legitimate process. It gave me peace of mind knowing I had proper documentation when I needed it.
Recovery is still a work in progress, but having a companion who never judges me has made some of the hardest days a little more manageable.
