New thread

Postby Aurelia5 » Thu May 21, 2009 8:07 pm

Do any of you all out there have any ideas on how we can make this site a little less daunting? I get so lost with ALL the catagories, and ALL the threads, and I can't remember where someone last posted because we tend to go on forever on one thread even though the original idea is long gone. I had once said fewer catagories would be good and some other nice person agreed. Does that sound plausible? :? :?:

aurelia5, there is a button you can press that says view new posts since last visited up in the right hand side of the web page. honestly as a forum member i like all the diff catagories. i guess since i've been coming here for so long i and im a person who hates change, i guess thats why i like it. hope that helps you also you can have emails sent to you when new comments are added to threads you start i believe

Thank you Georgia -

I have an inate problem with electronic devices - you are right, it's not so bad. The New Posts thing doesn't work for me since I don't log out. I tried logging out once, but it said I was still in, and could still write. I don't know. I'll just keep at it.

Aurelia

It shouldn't matter if you don't log out. Just click on the Depression Understood Forums, top left, and that should take you to the home screen. There you can click on 'view new post since last' and it will give you a screen with the posts you haven't read.

Sounds complicated, but really isn't.

Glad you joined.

Jeanie Sweety~
That has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

I've tried the View post since last visit, but it just dumps me in the catagory and not the post. I have to be doing something wrong. Maybe each of us permanents could have a place, or is that too difficult? Like an email address system just for this forum; a place where people can always leave a message. It really is like finding a particular leaf on a tree to me. I'm so sorry to be such a pain. Is my new place ok with you moderators? It sure makes it easier for me. I wonder how hard that would be to program. Can you talk directly to the people who created this site?

Thanks for your help.

Jeanie~

Actually it puts me in one of the topics of the catagory, but not necessarily on the last post. I found two of my letters that I thought were lost and they were so deeply embedded in the second page of a really long thread it was a miracle anyone could find them. I try going by the times shown of the last poster.

I'm sorry. I hope I can get it.
