Hi everyone, long time no post (been reading lots though) and I am at my wits end and could really do with some advice.

I suffer with emotionally unstable personality disorder, depression & multiple anxiety problems. However, I see a mental health nurse every couple of weeks and my issues are, for the most part, under control.

My inquiry is regarding my partner. His mood has been getting lower and lower over recent months. He's admitted to me that he's thought about harming himself. But, he point blank refuses to see a doctor. He suffers from a very severe form of Iatrophobia (Fear of Doctors) and just the suggestion of visiting a doctor will induce a panic attack.

I do not know what to do. I rang his doctors and they just said they've got to see him (understandably) but he won't go. I'm losing my patience will it all, I'm really struggling with it as it's making me worse too (I also have a physical disability) and I just do not know what to do.

I'm trying to be helpful, I'm trying to do nice things for him, I'm trying my absolute utmost not to lose my patience but it is no incredibly difficult.

Anyone go any idea what I can do? He really needs professional help!

There are still ways to cure depression without doctors. Have you suggested councilors? unlike doctors councilors will just listen and provide you with tools, not medication. You won't have to go into a hospital or emergency room. You can schedule a meeting and go the psychologist's office. Try that!
