Kind of confused thoughts

Postby cody56 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 11:02 pm

Hey guys if you don't know me I was recently "diagnosed" as dythsemic. Well I'm not suicidal or anything!, but lately I've just been thinking about it more and more. I'm seeing ways that I "could" do it, but I NEVER would. I don't know what to do about this, but I'm just confused about it.

Hi cody56,
are you taking any medication or having psychotherapy foryour Dysthymia?
If you`ve just started therapy this might just cause you to start having new and strange thoughts.
Has anything happened recently that could have triggered of such thoughts?
If these thoughts are worrying you then a chat with the Doc is a good place to start too.

I'm not taking any medication because I started with Lexapro and it made me feel really sick so I'm kind of afraid to try anything else. :( And yea I've had 2 sessions of therapy so far and my next appointment is thursday so I might bring it up.

cody, if your having suicidal thoughts, it is very important to bring it up to your therapist. And, not every drug you'll try will work for you, you will get those that will do what the lexapro did but at least you know that med is not the one to use. Then again, meds are not for everyone.
take care of yourself cody.

((((((((((((((( cody ))))))))))))))

Could be the meds, not a doctor so I don't know, but agree with shmuel and Emotional77, talk with your doctor, don't keep anything from him.

Know also, in those moments we are here and in the chat room to give all the support we possibly can.

Well I haven't taken the lexapro in a few weeks so I don't think that'd be affecting me at all. And it's not that I'm so depressed that I want to do anything, it's just like I'm becoming more aware of ways that I COULD do it. I'd never do it because I don't believe in taking one's own life, it is a gift from God. :)

Trying different meds sucks, but.........

Postby JudeB » Thu Aug 07, 2008 8:45 am

Hey Cody,

When I first started taking anti-depression meds; I had a heck of a time with side-effects. Every new med gave me a new side-effect. Some that forced me to take OTHER meds to control.
Finding the right med sucks...but, they are a lifesaver when you find the right one.
At least, that's the way it was for me.
