I should be happy...

Postby findingmyself » Sat Jul 17, 2010 2:21 pm

I have folks coming over for a get together. No doubt it will be fun. Many things in my life have never been better. However, instead of joining everyone, I'm up here in my room sitting in front of the fan and wishing I didn't have to get up. Now I know my depression is going too far.
I recently lost weight, so I can't yet fit my skinny clothes, and my fat clothes look frumpy. I don't know what to wear. I find myself not even wanting to put in the effort to try. No, I'm not giving in to it. Instead, I'm de-wrinkling a pair I'm praying will work for the night.
I have no energy. I just want to sleep so bad. Wish me luck. I have to get through this day with a chipper attitude somehow.

Sometimes we do what we have to until we are able to do what we want to. I know it's hard, but don't start isolating. Once it starts, it's too easy to continue and then you can't stop. My fave saying is "fake it until you make it". It means don't ever give up the battle because this is one war worth winning.

Ah, yes... That... I remember the clothes issue I had as well, after losing some weight.... I didn't like it either.... I still have and wear some of those clothes.... It's hard to look right in them....

Is it possible that you can get at least 2 pairs of pants/skirts/whatever that fit you well in the meantime? (I don't know if it would be worth it to you, though, since you seem to wish to lose more weight.)

Just a thought....

To save a little money, I go to the second hand store and get just one pair of pants and a couple shirts. That way i have some "in between" clothes for the temporary time between weights and haven't blown a bunch of money on new clothes just for a few weeks.

If it weren't for second hand stores, I would be screwed.
I ended up having fun that night and was glad I got out. I actually pulled off stretch pants, having finally lost enough weight to do so.

I normally make whatever i need. It fills the hours of the day for me. But when I do shop, it's second hand. I don't need no designer label on somthing to make it feel good on me. I'm glad you enjoyed your evening and it was a success. :)
