Sexual Frustration
Is it just me or does anyone else find that sexual frustration kind of adds to the depression?
Reason why I ask is that it's been a little over a year since my last time and the fact that I'm unable to find anyone to even relieve the strain is aggravating and that kind of adds to this sensation of "nothing's going to change about this."

When you are depressed, you feel unworthy. Useless. Unloved. Unwanted. Of course these things will affect your labido. If you are alone, it doubles it. You need to seek a general practitioner first to ensure it's not due to a medical condition. If it's not, then ask for a referal to a therapist. Therapy, meds, meditation, proper diet, proper exercise... these are all tools at our disposal to help us recover what is lost.

It's not my libido that's lost. I do have that. It's just that I don't have anyone to help relieve the tension of it.
BrokenPen,
I'm with you on this one. My husband is chronically ill. He works on a swing shift. We are on completely different schedules. We only sleep in the same bed occaaionally, maybe 6 times a month, and then he is usually in pain or exhausted. It leaves me feeling rejected, lonely, and undesirable. I usually just totally shut down. Deny all feelings. Try to hide the hurt. I've gotten so good at it that I can turn off all desire before I realize it was there to start with. Not sure I wold recommend this to anyone but it has helped me.
Men have an additional disadvantage. The seminal fluid builds up and increases the desire for release. Either way we are both left feeling very alone. Sorry to hear you have this problem too.

having depression makes it really tough to get out there and talk to people because i know all i like doing is sitting at home and saying nothing to anybody just being in my own little bubble all i can suggest is trying to get out there, join a small social group in your town, eg bowls, bowling, darts a pool group. depends on your age obviously, as well as helping you socialize, going out may help you forget your sexual frustrations a little, a new hobby would be helpful as well like a distraction technique.
Good luck i hope i helped a little and if all else fales a little self loving isnt always a bad thing

If only it were that easy. Most women avoid me.

In that case, yes.
Still, would be nice if I could connect to women at a relationship/sexual level a little more easily. That's what I meant in my first post with this. That it had been over a year since I had sexual contact with a woman.
Added to that is the fact that most women snub me because I'm not like Edward Cullen or Jacob Black. Bad enough that I"m not like a fictional character but they have to kick me while I'm down with things like this:
One girl said to me, "Aren't you gay?"
I answered, "no."
She said, "You may as well be since no woman would want you."
Sticks and stones may break bones but words scar the soul of the depressed.
