Hey everyone, I'm writing this cause I'm losing my soon to be wife and 2 kids soon, due to my depression stemming from being discharged from the AF a few years ago I never, took the time to stop and look at what was going with me and depression until now knowing that I am about to lose everything that's close to my heart. I was discharged for a few reasons but the main one cause I couldn't preform my Physical duties anymore due an shoulder injury and was discharged for that reason. I thought I had gotten over it but the more and more I look at things its my reason for everything that has gone wrong. I don't take care of myself as well I did before and I have pulled down my fiancé with me, both have gained weight over that last year we have been together. And I don't know where to start to help fix myself. I have had another surgery to fix my shoulder and bicep the injury that happened while in the AF. which has brought I bunch of problems since I have been waiting for over a year for this surgery, and it brought more depression knowing I couldn't do any work in the meantime and that I couldn't get unemployment. so im writing this to finally get it out in the open and hopefully so I can fix myself and get back my family.
thank you everyone.
AFVET and family.

Hi k2grand,
First off, thank you for serving our country! And welcome to this site.
Secondly, I'm so sorry you're facing a divorce. This stems from your depression, due to injuries sustained while in service?! Is this divorce the wish of your wife, or is it mutual?
I got the impression that it's something you're not wanting to do. Have you both tried any counseling at all? Have there been medication trials to help alleviate your depression?
I'm sorry to hit you up with a bunch of questions!
But, I wonder what's happened to the vows "For better, or for worse"..."In sickness and in health"...
Is there something that can possibly be done?
