A warm hug and welcome to you. Glad you found the forum, as you will find there are many people here that carry the same loads in life as you and I do.
I am not on medication, but perhaps others will be able to help you with your question. Also know there is a chat room connected with this forum and many knowledgeable people in there that would be able to help answer the question.
Hope to see you posting again soon. Again Welcome!!

Hi and welcome. I take klonopin on a daily basis for anxiety and xanax if I am having a panic attack or inbetween doses and really feeling anxious. Talk to your doctor and tell him/her how you feel and see what is recommend. Anxiety can be crippling yes, but there a lot of meds out there that can help it be less crippling. You'll get through this.

Hi. I have ptsd and I take lexapro. It's also good for anxiety. I also have had no adverse side affects from it. Please remember that each of us has a different physiology and the same meds will therefore affect each of us differently. Also remember that it takes apx 6 weeks to feel the full effects of a medication. And if you suddenly take yourself off them then start again, they may not work the second time around. Suddenly stopping can also come with it's own set of bad affects. I dont' want to put you off of meds, because i have had huge success from the Lexapro i take. During an anxiety attack you can also try putting an ice cube in your hand. Squeeze it as tight as you can. Concentrate as hard as you can on how it feels; the shapes it takes as it melts. This can help getting past an immediate situation.
I wish you the best.
