Hello, I don't really know what I'm doing here.

That's about it, really.

I get these depressive swings once in a while that usually tend to last a long time, and it seems another one has made its way over.

They get worse/more likely with stress and so I really should have expected it but I really thought I was done. Don't want to bother my friends because I'm shit at those so I found this place.

Hope you're all doing well.

Hi :)

Well you've found a good place. I personally am usually always depressed some days are worse than others and on rare occassions i'll get periods of complete bliss and happiness then crash.

I do agree that stress seems to make it worse for me so I do some stress relief exercises to try and help that and I also have a lot of "selfcare" days (doing things i want/enjoy doing: gaming, crocheting, reading a good book, lighting a candle, etc). It helps a lot for me. I've tried the majority of the techniques listed below and its a hit or miss on what works for each day.

Relaxation techniques: These techniques often combine breathing and focusing on calming thoughts and images. Examples include deep breathing, guided imagery, progressive relaxation, and self-hypnosis.

Exercise: Physical activity can help relieve stress. Yoga is an exercise that combines poses and deep breathing to help you relax.

Healthy lifestyle: Eat a healthy diet, get enough sleep, and avoid unhealthy habits.

Hobbies: Find a hobby that you can pick up or leave easily, such as knitting, reading, or listening to music.

Time management: Set priorities, organize tasks, and avoid procrastination.

Connect with others: Spend time with supportive friends and family.

Challenge negative thoughts: Identify and challenge negative thoughts.

Reduce screen time: Spend less time in front of a screen and more time relaxing.

You're not alone in this.
