Which dress for my body shape?

Good evening!

I’ve been invited to a wedding and I still haven’t found anything to wear…
I’m petite (1m60 / 5’3”) with a size 40, so it’s not easy to find a dress that really suits my body shape. According to Cristina Cordula (lol) I have an hourglass figure. I feel like my calves are a bit big and that bothers me a little, but my bust is not too large — it’s proportionate to the rest of my body.

I’d love to find a colorful dress (not black, and not completely white). If you know any nice and reliable websites, I’d be happy to check them out. I really like sites such as ASOS, Forever21, Mango, Zara,Boho Via etc. Oh, and I forgot to mention — I’m 21.

What kind of dress would suit my body shape?
I’d love a maxi dress, but given my height I’m afraid it might make me look shorter and not be dressy enough for a wedding!
