Looking for some hope in Ireland

Hi,
Just discovered this site, looks very hopeful. Having a bad day today. Never been officially diagnosed but have used some medication for depression in the past. It's virtually impossible to get help in Ireland. Doctors constantly tell me I'm only going through a phase and the like! I'm 50, when can I expect the phase to pass??!! It's the loneliness that is excruciatingly painful. I haven't got a single friend. I seem to repel people. At work I am probably pitied more than liked. I kind of appreciate it's self-perpetuating, all this feeling sorry for myself is bound to repel people!! I would really like to talk to someone about how I'm feeling. Is there anyone?
Cheers
