Depression Understood Forums

Hello all,
this is my first post in this forum and I am hoping to feel a little less overwhelmed. My house is being foreclosed on, and the house I had lined up for my husband, two children and I fell through and now it looks like we may be facing homelessness. The worst part is that it isn't really a financial issue (although we are very broke) its more of a problem finding somewhere that will take someone with bad credit. my husand works, we can pay rent, but finding a place is just overwhelming. We have to think about school districts and we are hoping someone will let us keep our dog. It would be so devastating for the kids to lose their pet as well as their home.

oh well, that is probably a lot for a first post, but I really felt the need to share with someone and I don't have a real support system set up. thanks for listening

I don't know what anyone can do unless they are willing to spare a winning lottery ticket, lol. I just need someone to talk to. I don't have a real support system in my life. I have a husband but he not only doesn't really get it, he is part of the problem. I need to work out of this dark place I am in. I want to get up and be an active person, a person who can get things done but instead I sit around and play internet games, or read books, or watch tv, or do anything except what has to be done. How can I overcome this inactivity? I think that is the bigget problem I am facing. I cant seem to get myself motivated to get up and get anything done. Everything is so overwhelming that I cant get started and then it just gets worse. I am just feeling really hopeless right now.

So sorry that you are going through all of this. I understand that feeling of helplessness. I don't have any advice......just wanted you to know that I am here and I am wishing you the best.

I know what its like to to have that feeling of hopelessness. I've been struggling with it for a while now. i spent so much attention on everyone else that i forgot about the person in the mirror. My advice to you would be to find the courage do for you and realize that the time you use to waste doing other things could be time that you use to spend on yourself.
When was the last time you did something just for you in order to better yourself. In the end, we truly only have ourselves to take care of ourselves and I believe that is the reason why people don't really get it.
It's like you placed yourself in a routine and no one will be able to take you out the routine with the exception of the person who put you in that routine in the first place.
