Hello, just really need someone to listen
Hi, I am a 21 year old engineering student and I have no will to live. I think about death a lot and just don't have the energy to get up in the mornings. My school work is suffering and I just can't seem to do anything. My fiance is really supportive but I just can't help it. I suffer from anxiety and depression which also manifests as severe nausea and headaches which make concentrating difficult. I am at the end of my rope and don't know what to do from here. I know I need help to get over this, but I don't know where to turn. I have been this way off and on since I was thirteen or so and I just can't seem to end it. Thanks for reading, I just needed to rant and to know that it is possible to get better someday.
Hello NightShadeANM;
We have a few things in common. I'm a 52 engineer. I was diagnosed with chronic depression about eight years ago but have come to believe I've struggled most all my life. There is hope. There are many things to try. It's especially difficult when school work just keeps marching on.
I'm on my way home but I'll try to post a bit more later. Welcome to the site. Have a look around. This a safe place to let down the shield a bit.

Hi there nightshade. Welcome to the forum.
Many of us can relate to your situation, though the particulars vary. Are you seeking psychiatric help? I didn't start using antidepressants until I was 25, but had been seeking help for 10 years by then. They (the drugs) do help me somewhat. The counseling I've gotten over the years has not been all that helpful, but I think it works well for some.
You can always find some compassionate ears here.
