Getting to know people

Hey.
I'm 15 years old and I'm kinda shy. I have a problem with fitting in and making friends. I know that people say I should be confident etc but I really try my best, talking to people. I feel like I can't be myself when they are more than 2 people there and I communicate better face to face with someone. Sometimes I feel like the only way to make friends is to lock myself with someone in a room for like 3-4 hours, with no computer, no phone and nothing in general to take our attention.

Hi Christina7s,
Welcome aboard. When I was your age, I was also a bit shy.To this day, I still feel a certain awkwardness, but I'm working past it. In time, you may grow more comfortable; Only time will tell. :) I believe you'll be fine. Just be yourself, and you will find more companions who relate to you.

Hi, Christina7s,

There is nothing wrong with you. You have just described yourself as an Introvert :)

That means that your personality functions differently from Extraverts.

Here is an article from Psychology Today about Intraversion:

And here is another:

Most writers are introverts. There are gifts that go along with being a certain personality type.

What are some of the other things you like to do? Read? Write?

Just some thoughts. :)
