Does anyone suffer from OCD and depression?

Postby Lila13 » Sun Nov 13, 2011 10:56 pm

I have had serious depressive issues as a result of profound ocd I suffered as a teenager. I sought therapy for the ocd about 10 years ago and it saved my life, as I learned how to cope with it. The ocd is under control now but I still suffer from depression. I am just so tired of having such emotional pain...I thought that I had seen the worst of it all...but slowly I seem to be slipping again....and I fear the worst. Can anyone relate?

Hi. I have an extremely mild case of ocd. Never been diagnosed though. Not for that at least. I count. I count everything i see. And it all has to be counted in 3's. If it doesn't then i have to change something to make sure it does. It's not debilitateing for me, just annoying as hell. So sorry yours is a much more serious case of ocd.

Thanks for sharing your ocd symptom of counting by 3's Obayan...it does sound like it would get annoying...ocd is just that...annoying! Intellectually, you know how crazy it is, doing whatever it is your are compelled to do, but it's so hard to break free from it!
