New and Just saying Hello

Postby Leayre » Wed Oct 17, 2012 9:35 pm

Hello. I am just looking for some support right now. I've known for awhile I was depressed but lately it seems like it's gotten worse. I find myself just crying in the middle of the day for no reason, or being sad and I just wanted to find a place to be able to dig down to maybe find the root of why I am feeling like this. I am 37 years old, I have 3 children. My son is 16, and I have a daughter who is 2 and another son who is 7 months old. I thought a lot of it was my hormones after having a baby then a hysterectomy, but I know deep down I have not felt happy in many many years. I look forward to meeting new people and just chatting and gaining some support and understanding.

Thank you.

Hi Leayre, welcome to the forums. I can understand your feelings. I have 3 children as well and while the age gap is not as great, I often feel pulled in 3 different emotional directions. Do not underestimate the toll those ages take on a person. You are coping with the demands and issues of a teenager along with very young children. That is hard.
If you throw a medical issue on top of it, as you have..I too would cry in the middle of the afternoon. Women and various gynecological issues are often pushed aside because they are not easy to discuss and half the population doesn't want to hear about it, lol. I bet you were sort of left to feel like..this is no big deal, happens to many, you will be better off...etc etc etc. I hope you have physically recovered from the surgery but I know emotionally you are feeling all sorts of things. If the mood and crying is interfering in your daily life, I hope you will see a doctor and discuss it.

I hope you find support and solace here. You might try checking out our chat room as well. Chat is a great place to exchange information and give and receive support.

Keep posting, take care.
