Someone to talk to

Postby Charles » Wed Feb 01, 2012 12:58 am

I've had a hard time trying to find people to talk to. Being me, I could never do this sort of thing in person. I smile, I laugh and I keep it all in. You know, Keep Calm and Carry On. If I feel something, it stays locked away or typed up and saved in a little file called 'Mind'. It's taken me a while, but I've decided I really need someone to talk to. Casually, to ask and exchange advice. Any would be nice. Thanks.

Welcome, Charles. I understand how you feel, I think forming relationships of anykind can be one of life's greatest challenge. This is a great place to express your ideas and feelings. You might check-out our chat room as well... it is a another resource here at DU and it provides the opportunity to chat with many different people with different experiences and views. Welcome again, and take care.

Thank you, Lisa. The reason I decided to give these forums a shot is seeing the support each member gives each other. It's nice to know there are good people out there somewhere. I appreciate your advice.

Hi Charles and Welcome! I can completely understand what you mean as far as holding things in and locking them away. I too do this. It has been such a relief to find a place here at DU where I can finally let all the thoughts and feelings out into the open and not be judged or critisized for feeling these things. I hope that you are able to find that here as well! Take Care and Keep Posting....would love to see you in chat as well!

Hi Charles. I can so relate to what you wrote. Even with the people I am closest to and could trust the world with, I have a very hard time opening up. I hope you find the support you are looking for here.

Great place for support. And lots of really nice people who genuinely do care.
